I use them on all my cakes. I even put the flower nail in my 8 in. rounds while using the strips. The last time I did this with an 8 in, my cake was terrific. No leveling required whatsoever. On the big cakes, it really helps to prevent the edges from drying out. ![]()

The last time I didn't use a bake even strip I ended up wasting soooo much cake b/c the crown was super high! LESSON LEARNED!
