Any suggestions to getting impression onto BC? I've tried cornstarch and even firming icing in freezer for a bit......

castle cake to deliver soon and need help!! Should I throw up my hands and try to make MMF for the very first time?!?!

Any favorite crusting BC recipes to try....

is it a crusting BC?

chilling the cake will make it worse. it has to crust for about 30 minutes and then impress, wiping off mat after each press.

must be a crusting BC

Is your icing layer thick enough?

Agree that a crusting bc works best, but it can be done on a non-crusting bc if you freeze it a good 15-25 minutes AT LEAST. Once the mat begins to stick, time to pop the cake back in the freezer.
