is it glass or plastic? I am thinking you might be able to dampen a paper towel, put some baking soda on it and rub.

It would help greatly to know what kind of topper it is and what it is made of. Could you post a quick pic of the topper? I'm sure one of us can offer some advice if we know what we're working with.

You could try model paint from the craft stores (with the couples permission, of course) - acrylic paint will rub off too easily. Are the yellow spots only on the white parts?

I googled it and some people have has sucess with soaking or spraying yellowed plastic down with hydrogen peroxide or letting and oxy clean paste sit on over night. Good luck!
