I can't remember EVER reading this hint in any forum, so maybe it's really a nEW idea, today I mixed gumpaste & fondant and dyed it using the dough hook on my kitchenaid! Works like a charm! I made up 2 pounds, prally couldn't do it if you had a lot to color, but it worked great for that...so fast!

I've never done it with gumpaste. But I do that when I make my own fondant. It makes it so much easier.

Cool! Share any additional tips on this if you have them, please icon_smile.gif. ShirleyW, who used to be an active participant here, used this technique; she said she started w/a golf-ball sized hunk of fondant. I've never been able to get it to work for me though icon_cry.gif - the fondant and color just bopped around my KA. How much fondant do you put in, and do you just squirt the color in, or do you mix some of it into the fondant first by hand? Enquiring minds want to know. icon_smile.gif
