Can I substitute butter for oil and milk for water in equal amounts in this mix without affecting it? TIA

don't know about butter for oil - butter is not 100% fat (has water content and milk solids). I have seen some cake experts say that milk makes chocolate bitter so they don't recommend using milk in chocolate cake.

Thanks for your help. I decided it was safer to go with the package directions. Thanks again.
