I'm frosting and decorating a carrot cake tonight. Can I do a piped border with cream cheese frosting or should I use buttercream or does it matter?
TIA~

If you have the right cream cheese frosting recipe, you can pipe anything with it! I've done borders, roses, bumblebees, etc. I use the Decorator's Cream Cheese Frosting from this website. It's great!

In the past I've iced the cake with regular cream cheese and then just beat some extra powdered sugar into it for piping.

Check your consistency, but you should be able to pipe.
