to the side of a buttercream cake? I have a wedding cake coming up where the bride wants a fondant monogram on the side of the top tier of a buttercream cake. I plan on making it out of thin ropes of fondant, so it shouldn't be overly heavy ~ but I want to make sure it won't move or slide down (without using toothpicks or other inedible materials). I plan on placing it on the cake upon delivery, but what else can I do to ensure it will stay put???
Thanks in advance!

I use piping gel with a brush. It holds all my fondant on.

I use tylose powder and water mixture - it's like the consistency of a thick gel. Works great. You can also try melted chocolate.
