How Much Would You Pay For This Cake???

Great cake I asked my roomates how much would they pay for this cake and we all agreed that any where around 55-65 would be a fair price. They also said if the person buying this cake was from NC that you would more than likely pay at least 100. What size is it? MC
1/4 sheet cake white with buttercream
9 X 13 single 2 inch layer
I charge 30$ for a 1/4 sheet cake. I fill all my cakes, but the 2 layer is not as high as that cake pictured.
I charge $25 for 1/4 sheet cake. If I have to add filling or it's another flavor other then yellow, white or chocolate I charge more. Plus I'd charge more depending on the decoration.
By the way... that's a nice cake!
I think that you need to figure up how much the cake actually cost you to make; and then make it enough so that you make a decent profit. Or, how many is it suppose to feed? I generally say $2 a slice, but I adjust my price according to how complicated it is.
The cake is awesome!!
Thanks everyone for you input. Now I know that I need to raise my prices. I only charged $25 for this cake.
I do plan on raising my prices but with just trying to really get my name known I have been undercharging.
Now I have all of her family's cake business. So it will all work out in the end.
$25 is entirely too cheap. You could not get that at WalMart for $25!!! And this is definitely not a WalMart cake!!! Way to cheap. I would charge $50-60 depending on your area. That is a specialty cake. Very nice btw. Great Signature. Did you free hand that or a did a gel transfer?

Looks like I need to raise my prices too!! LOL!!
I guess I was trying to compete w/ Wallyworld... ![]()
Thank you for the kind words. I do plan on raising my prices, especially after learning so much from this site.
I made my own stencil from a pic, traced it on the cake and then filled. The signature was a bit difficult. I can't tell you many times I pulled it off of the cake and redid it. ![]()
I guess that I am guilty of completing with Wallyworld and the supermarkets.
Becca0926: Generally, I will print out the pics, make a stencil of them, transfer to the cake and then fill with frosting.
Actually I print the picture on a sturdy piece of paper, a little thicker than copy paper, (I have actually used just regular copy paper also but the stencil is generally ruined after one use), and then I take an Exacto knife or razor blade and cut out the details that I want to show on the cake. I then place the stencil on the cake and use a needle to lightly "draw" the picture into the frosting after it has crusted. I use a needle because it is much smaller than a toothpick. Then just fill in with icing.
Thanks everyone for the encouragement!
I definiately need to raise my prices ![]()
