Marshsmallow Fondant Question

How long does Marshmallow Fondant last? Can you freeze it and for how long if it can?

I've never frozen it....just rubbed on a coat of shortening, placed in a zip bag and then into a container in the fridge. I have some that's at least two months old and I used some of it last week with no problems.

I agree with Jeff_Arnett, I put mine in ziploc bags and leave it in my pantry and it lasted over a month.

I keep it wrapped tightly and stored in my pantry for MONTHS. I hate to kneed, so I nuke at 5 second intervals when I need to use it again.

I just used a bit of cinnamon mmf I made back in may to make (well, to have my mother make) cat figurines for a cake this week. It took a bit of extra kneading, but it worked just fine, and when the kids ate the cats, I tried a paw, and there was no funny taste. icon_smile.gif

As long as it's wrapped well, there shouldn't be any problems. I use my food saver to remove all the air, and store it in my pantry. I also just nuke it 5-10 secs and grease up my hands with crisco and knead it a bit.

Ah Ha!, the food saver! sheesh, why didn't I think of that! Thanks kello!! icon_smile.gif I've just been wrapping and sealing in a ziploc.
