I have frozen buttercream (one cream cheese and one regular crusting buttercream) I made it and put it straight in the freezer. Now I want to use it and my dad asked me how long icing stays good in the freezer. I have no idea?! Is there a time limit on when I should use it? Or would it be fine 6 months later? Thanks!

I would take it out and let it thaw for an hour or so and then re-whip and taste. I have used icing, both kinds, before that have been frozen for some time.

Thank you so much! I was just concerned that it might some how go bad although I don't know how that would happen! :]
