This is my first attempt at using gum paste flowers. I've made various sizes of apple blossoms to attach to a tiered cake, and plan to pipe an icing branch meandering up and around the side of the cake. I didn't want to use wires out of fear of metal contamination, so I just made tiny 'knobs' on the back side of each flower. I read that moisture is a problem with gum paste. Will the flowers get soggy after attaching them to the cake? (The cake is covered with buttercream.) Thanks for yout advice!

You can use Buttercream to attach them or a little royal icing. Just make sure your flowers are completely dry and you wont have a problem with moisture.
