I've been asked to do a cake for a 10Y old girl. Need to do by tomorrow. Any ideas for a cake? Never made own buttercream icing and never used decorating tools.

Thanks for any help.

Hmmm..That could be a challenge..You don't have much time to try Buttercream recipes or get used to decorating tools...Maybe a simple 8 inch double layer round with pick borders....a few icing flowers like daisies or something.

I carved a quick #10 out of a 2 layer sheet cake and decorated it with the star tip in bright colours (lime, pink, yellow, blue) polka dots. She loved it and it hardly took any time at all. Just use IndyDeb's buttercream icing posted on here. It doesn't require refrigeration and it's easy & tasty. Use it to fill as well and you've got yourself an easy cake.
