JUST TO BE SAFE I BOUGHT A 28 OZ CAN AND HAD PLENTY. ALSO YOU WANT TO HAVE EXTRAS FOR THE ONES YOU BREAK OR ARE ALREADY BROKEN. AND JUST A TIP, I MADE MINE FOR THE FIRST TIME THE DAY BEFORE AND REFRIGERATED OVERNIGHT AND THE COOKIES GO REALLY STALE. JUST A REMINDER THAT THIS COULD HAPPEN SO TRY TO PUT THE COOKIES ON AS LAST MINUTE AS POSSIBLE(JUST MY ADVICE). HOPE THIS HELPS

It depends on how many are broken when you buyt them icon_cool.gif But I've done a few and for me it's about 2.5 to 3 cans. hth

Well for the 2 that are in my photos, for the tall one I use 1 big can & for the shorter one I use about 1/2 a big can cas I used different sizes of cookies...

For my cake I bought 2 of the 13.5 ounce cans and barely had enough because they were all 'pre-broken' for me. I was livid when I opened them and it seemed that every other one was broken in half! Ergh!! Just in case that happens to you, I recommend having another can on hand unless you live really close to a store that sells them! (I don't so I was glad I bought two!) Good luck and have fun!

Here's another vote for at least 2 if not 3 cans. My situation was the same as Melvira's. I bought 2 cans and actually had to piece together my last one on the cake because so many were already broken in the can. But I know they are expensive which is why I didn't get 3 just to be "safe". If it is for a client, I would definitely get 3.

I've found that the off brand ones are less expensive - I've seen them in drug stores like Walgreen's or CVS in the cookie section. The Pepperidge Farm ones are usually $4.99 a can!

There is a cheaper brand that my brother bought I believe at walmart & they did NOT taste good at all, not too sure if they were stale or just tasted bad... So be careful buying other brands, maybe buy 1 can & taste it before you use them... Just my opinion...

If you have a Sam's or BJ's you can buy a large can for about $5.99, it is about equal to 3 of the small cans at the grocery stores.

Good tip. There is a lower price charin of supermarket here that sells a generic version of them and they even have a white chocolate covered lemon cream filled one that I like even better than the Pirouline!

I got a large can for the one I did. Thankfully not to many were broken. I wanted to cut them so they all were about the same size.

If you do have broken ones you can put them on the back. If you put the ribbon around it no one will notice.

Oh and my cake was in the refrigerator and the cookies were still crispy and fresh.

I love those cakes. They are pretty and yummy!
