My husband is in Hong Kong on business, and he's sending me photos via Blackberry of a high-end bakery there. Each cake is more amazing than the last!!! I've attached the one that blew me away. He said he can hardly believe it's cake when he's looking at it in person.

WOW! thats bloody fantastic! i showed my husband and he thought it was real! he didnt beleive me when i said it was cake, had to show him this post! give us moree lol!

Although beautiful in their own right, these cakes pale in comparison to the clown. My husband also said that there's a 6' tall pagoda-looking cake that he'll try to get a photo of if he has the chance. He was on his way to a meeting and ran out of time.

Wow! I'm one of those clown-phobic individuals but I could look at that thing all day long!!! The other cakes are also nice, but the clown cake is just spectacular.

Yes, Ursula40, it is the Mandarin Hotel in Hong Kong. I wish I could answer the question about how much they cost, but I have no idea. And, yes!!!, my husband is a sweetie for seeking out bakeries to satisfy my cake photo addiction! icon_razz.gif

I wonder what part of the clown scene is cake? They have to be using something we don't use -- I don't think you could do that sculptural detail with RKT and fondant! It's astonishing and I wish we knew more.....
