HELP!! Next Tuesday is my grandfather's 80th birthday and he is very special to me yet I am clueless on how to decorate his cake. He loves cake yet has no real favorite so I'm doing the white almond sour cream cake posted here on CC but need tips on designing it out of buttercream icing. He really doesn't have any hobbies so I don't have a theme to use.
PLEASE HELP!! Thank yall!! ![]()
maybe something nostalgic? Research the decade he grew up in and use that as your inspiration. Or you can inquire about him from others who may know him better in the family or have some old pictures of him. You can either use the pictures as your theme or have an edible image made out of them for the cake.
Just a few thoughts...
Great ideas thank you so much gotta do my homework now! ![]()
I did an 80th b-day cake I believe about 2 years ago when I first started. I mad 2 big oval cakes & decorated with start tip the numbers 8 & 0. It was a hit & for a lot of people so if you don't need that big of a cake maybe you could do smaller ovals. Sorry I don't have a pic. But I think there is something similar with the number 60 in the gallery...
Cool idea that sounds easy enough I'll have to use small oval pans and a star tip shouldn't take to long cause it's a small number of people coming to the party but who doesn't love cake to take home? Thanks!! Love the idea! ![]()
