I've never heard of Duff roses - thanks for posting the links to the tutorials, I'm trying this out today! Adree 313 I think they look great!

Go to hoby lobby and in thier clay department they sell crafvt porcelain (aka COld Porcelain) you will love working with it and making flowers with it. It allows you to roll the petals super thin and they will dry overnight so you have some time once they have begun to set to fine tune your petals. Once dry they color beacutifly with petal dusts or non toxic chalks. It is totally food safe so you can put them on your cakes. So much easier and nicer to work with than gum paste.

hmm never heard of it. we don't have a hobby lobby here (yet! the sign for the future one has been put up lol) i wonder if they sell it at michaels. i'll have to look into it. thanks for the tip!

I can't wait to try the "duff" way! I like the fun look of those roses. Probably since I can't for the life of me make a realistic rose.
I've tried the 5 cutter method, and it made me want to rip my hair out. Really.

you can also make your own cold porcelain. I found tons of recipies for it when I was looking for it then I found it premade so why bother?
