I am looking for the best all-around frosting recipe, for taste, stability, and ability to be frozen for long periods of time. I am making a cake for my cousins wedding, and she wants to freeze the top tier. MUST taste good, and not be greasy!

Also, I've heard that pound cake is the best cake for freezing. Is that true? Does anyone have experience with freezing cake that they'd like to share?

I haven't run into a cake that didn't freeze well. They retain moisture. I've also had success freezing buttercream and Rich's Bettercreme.
