but i have a request for a 8 year olds cake... mentioned that she loves fashion and girlie girl things. i was thinking of doing a handbag cake...but my fear is that it will be too old (mature for her) .
any tips and or ideas...??

you could always do a younger girlie bag for her with brighter colours and patterns or just a very soft coloured pretty one without all those big gold chunky buckles and all that you can sometimes find on adult hangbags

I work in a restaurant, and you would be surprised to see how many little girls ( as young as 3) show up with their hand bags. They are always so proud to show off what they have inside too! I think she would love one, most of the bags are bright pink and have some "girly" glitz on them.

I like this cake made by gakali. It doesn't look too adult.



Maybe you could add a popular children's character (like Hello Kitty) as the clasp on the purse.

hot sellers right now are zebra stripes with hot pink, lime green, or lavender accents.

I think that's a good choice, especially with the lipstick too!
