I was preparing a 12" layer by wrapping it in plastic wrap for the freezer. As I turned it over to wrap the opposite side, it split in half! This is for my sister's bridal shower and I don't know if there is a way to repair this or if I should just bake another one. This is going to be a 2 tier cake and this layer is part on the bottom tier. Please help me if you can. Thanks!

Using icing for glue--just glue it together and sail on.
You'll be fine.

Put plastic wrap on a cookie sheet or cooling rack place that on top of the cake & flip it over that way, then wrap it up.

Make it the bottom layer and move on. It will be fine. You can glue it back together with frosting, but I wouldn't.

Same thing happened to me this weekend with a 12X18 sheet cake. As I flipped it, it kinda cracked. Good thing I was cutting it into three strips to stack and carve into a train shape!

If this cake is going to be frosted...just piece it together...who will ever know?
