Hello Ladies and Gent.
It's been a really long time since my last comment. I hope everyone is doing well. I have decided to start back doing cakes after 10 months, and let me tell you, I feel like a beginner all over again. I was writing to ask a quick question. I am doing a 2 tier first birthday cake. I was hoping those that enjoy doing 2 tier cakes, could offer some advice. Here goes.
Can you please tell me what cake pans do you like to match up?
Should I use a 2inch or 3inch pan?
I would also like to ask, will I add 3 layers to each size or just 2?
for instances 3 6 inches and 3 9inches?
The size Im thinking about are 6/9 or 6/10 or would you recommended something else.
I'm looking for height but not to high.
Thank you for your time in advance.
My first 2 cakes I have done, since starting back.

I strongly prefer 2 inch tall pans. The 3" pans just don't bake right, IMO.

I use 2, 2" tiers, torted so that I end up with four layers of cake and three layers of filling per tier.

Both 6/9 and 6/10 look fine. Depends on how many servings you need.
