Hello! I am not able to log on much, but I have gotten great help from here before! I am in a bit of a dilemma!

My Dad has requested a cake that his grandma used to make a long time ago, He said it is a spice cake with buttercream icing - no cream cheese. My mom thinks it may have had carrot in it. His Grandma has a German background, iand it's been 40+ years since he's had the cake - if that helps. I have looked in the recipe section, but I'm not sure what I'm really looking for! Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions??
