a cake is a cake is a cake is a cake.

matters not round, square, hex, heart, oval or rectangular (aka sheet)

set a per serving price and stick to it for all shapes.

that being said, in my area it's at $2.50/serving. Extra for fondant and special froo-froo.

That's my problem...sticking to prices! The minute someone balks I start back pedalling!

What Doug said. My sheets are a lower per-serving price than round-layered-tiered cakes but it's because I dont' deliver sheet cakes, so no delivery fee needs to be built into the price.

Why are you backpedaling? If you don't believe in the value of your work, then how can you convince OTHER people of the value of your work? icon_confused.gif

If you are afraid of dealing with the pricing issue (and when we all start out, we all hate dealing with the pricing issue), then make up a price list and when people ask you, just give them the list. It is what it is.

Not everyone can afford me and that's ok. I dont' backpedal. My landlord doesnt' backpedal. The light company doesn't back pedal.

You get the idea.
