I have my very first wedding cake in October and i'm very excited. It's for a really good friend of mine and her fiance was all over the cake ideas.

One of my layers is to look like a quilt w/ silver balls in the middle.

Does anybody have or know where i can find a tutorial on how to do a quilting effect? It will be for a square cake.

Thanks,
B

you can buy impression mats, or else crack out the ruler and measure up your lines for the same look.

I was just at the bookstore thumbing through cake decorating books, and actually remember a tip from Colette Peters (because I was curious about this myself)... She suggested using one of those triangle rulers to keep your angles consistent.

If doing a fondant cake, the diamond quilter is the BOMB and is so so easy to use. Lookup my cakes and you'll see many with this technique on them. I do it ALL the time. If you need more advice, feel free to PM me.
