I'm quite new to this site and i'm loving all the help and advise that's available.
I'm looking for a moist yellow cake recipe to make from scratch that will hold up to the weight of one or two layers, with supports. Here in England some supplies can be hard to find so I need to keep it a simple as poss.
Everything I seem to have a go at seems to be very heavy and tastless. Thanks icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif

I like this recipe. I have gotten good reviews from it. Be careful that you don't over mix it. Also this recipe makes too much for a regular size cake. So if you are making 2 8" or 9" rounds you will have enough for a few cupcakes too. http://www.wilton.com/recipe/Basic-Yellow-Cake

I second Toba Garrett's Yellow cake recipe!! I made it today for the 1st time and it's the best scratch cake I've ever had. I used her French vanilla BC to ice and it was heavenly.
