How exactly do you use the lily nails? Do you leave the foil on the nail while you are piping the flower or take them off before? I'm really confused and haven't been able to find much information online about it.
I have never used mine with icing. I use mine with fondant or gum paste. I cut my leaves then lay them in the cup of the nail and if I need to I use the inner nail to press them together then slide them out, shape and slip them back in to set up a bit.
i took the wilton course lll class. There they teach to leave in the foil until the flowers are dry then peel off the foil. Word of warning, be careful doing this because your flowers may break.
