Hey there everyone! I just made about a half batch of Miss T's MMF (posted in the recipes section), made of melted marshmallows, water, vanilla, and shortening. It looks beautiful and tastes lovely... but the stuff just won't set! I'm hoping to make a few cutouts for some cupcakes this weekend (a sort of edible cupcake pick), but this floppy, sticky fondant just won't do. Should I knead in some cornstarch, more powdered sugar, or just give up and go pick up some FondX? Please advise! icon_redface.gif

That recipe sounds a lot like what I use. It's really soft right after it's made (good time to color it if you're going to) but by the next day it will firm up enough to work with easily.

Hmm... thanks! I pulled it out from the fridge and it had hardened up quite a bit. I used cornstarch instead of powdered sugar to roll it out and it started behaving. Now I'm going to let my cutouts sit on some wax paper overnight and hopefully they'll firm up!
