Can I use Wilton red gel to paint on gumpaste? Will it be red enough if I paint it on? I need to make a bobber for a retirement cake and that's the last little detail. The cake is being delivered tomorrow. TIA

I would be concerned that the gel would be too thick, and turn sticky if painted on the gumpaste....I am thinking you may have to thin it with a small amount of vanilla extract if you don't have vodka....I would mix it, then test a bit of it on some other gumpaste to see if it's red enough....

For future projects, get some powdered coloring. You can mix it with alcohol or confectioners glaze for full strength color. You can also mix it with cocoa butter for painting on chocolate.
