Hi!
I just checked out sugarshack's recipe for buttercream. She said that it is using a 5 qt mixer, however i have a 4.7 mixer, should i change the recipe or it will work out fine? I hadnt tried the recipe bc the mixer is brand new and i dont want to brake it or something.

I would cut it down by maybe 1/4th? just to be safe, but maybe someone who has tried it will have better advice!

I would probably cut it down some.. .maybe instead of 5 cups shortening and 5 pounds sugar, drop them both to 4?? I'm sure you could pm her and she would be able to help...

btw.. I LOVE her recipe!!!

I have a 4.5 quart KA, and I make a variation of her buttercream all the time. I FILL my bowl with 2 cups of butter, 2 ups of hi-ratio shortening, and 16 cups (approx) of powdered sugar - I know Sharon uses all shortening. That takes me right to the top of the bowl, and the buttercream is super smooth - no air in it because the paddle is totally covered.
