Do you mean like a beautiful glass pedestal one? If so, I'd like to know, too. My husband was hinting around the other day about them -- I think he might buy me one for the next holiday. Hey, the 4th of July's just around the corner! . . . Oh, I guess he'll probably wait till Christmas. icon_wink.gif

There's a duplicate of this thread running. I posted there. But I'll copy my post over here and try and delete my post from the other thread so we can keep it all in one thread.

From other thread:

"Are you looking for tiered wedding cake stands or regular pedestal cake stands for individual cakes?

Tiered wedding cake stands can be rented from your local wedding/catering supply rental outlet. I don't generally do wedding cakes so I'm not sure where you would buy them. I buy individual pedestal stands at HomeGoods. They have a constantly changing inventory and are unbelievably cheap."

coincidentally, today is one of three annual trips I make to HomeGoods for just this reason, among others. I go right after Xmas to grab the after Xmas sale cake stands, etc., today, the first day of my summer vacation for flowery stuff, and mid-Oct for the more Autumny stuff.

I buy my silver plated ones at Homesense. They bring them in for the wedding season. I have also used big chunky or ornate box style picture frames from there as well. Sometimes there is a picture in it, sometimes there is a mirror. They can be painted any colour you want or leave them they way they are. Look in the reduced section. Last time I was there I bought 5 of them and they ranged in price from $3 - $9.

What type of cake stands do you mean?
There is quite a big range of types, materials they are made from & prices.

Does anyone know where I can purchase a glass and wrought iron cake stand? I'm looking for one to hold my wedding cake with a 12 inch base for my wedding in September.

Wow its obvious something weird is going on with the site!
I am talking about the ornate bottoms I see on some cakes. They are silver and beautiful. Something like that!

Thanks for your help.

Wow, thanks for the suggestion!!! There's a HomeGoods right up the way from me, but I'd never thought to look there for cake pedestals. I popped in yesterday, and they honestly had twelve different kinds, all under $12!! They had funky ones, really ornate ones with crystals suspended from the bottom, and classic all-occasion plain ones. What a selection! Now I know where to gently steer my husband at Christmastime!

Thanks for the suggestions for looking at plant stands! I'd been looking but hadn't been able to find one that I really like until you posted some of the links. I'd found a big fruit basket that I was going to manipulate.
