I am doing a sweet 16 topsy turvy cake. She wants it covered in fondant with fondant decorations. So here are my questions.....

1. How much fondant should I order to cover 12,12,12,8,8,8,6,6,6 cakes? (each tier is 3 layers)

2. How do you figure the pricing for it? I have never done a fondant covered cake before! I just normally do buttercream!

I know a lot of people start their topsy turvy cakes at $5.00 a slice. And then depending on the rest of the cake, go up from there. The 6 and 8 inch aren't going to take too much fondant, but that 12 inch is going to use a lot. You would probably be ok with a 10lb bucket. I would wait and see if someone else thinks 10 lbs wil cover you though.

The 5-tier wedding gown dress (in my pics) used between 10-15 lbs of fondant. But I rolled it really thin ... I think too thin.
