I am doing a Dallas Cowboy star birthday cake. I think I will just use my Wilton star pan, but I definitely want to make sure the blue comes out right. I've read several threads about using Wilton Royal Blue (got it yesterday) with a little black. Should I just start with my white buttercream? Is there any problem with getting it to take the blue color? Would cream cheese icing be any harder to get the right color?

TIA!

I've done it with Royal blue & black starting with white buttercream I've also used just royal blue coloring and let it sit a while.

thanks, KKC. I'll give it a try this weekend - I'm sure my co-workers will eat one more trial run! icon_smile.gif
