Na Na Na Na Na Naaaa I Went To Another Auction Take 3

LOL... You are all going to hate me after I tell you this... Remember a few months ago how I went to an auction and got a lot of stuff for a little bit of money?? Well, it's happened again!
Last thursday, One of the older bakeries in our area auctioned off all of their equipment, and I cut my vacation a day short just so I could attend... "To get only the necessities" LOL... I really wanted a Kopycake and an airbrush, as well as any cake magazines that they would have, since I collect older magazines about cakes... and maybe some recipes, since they had such a good reputation... Well. Ha. So much for that plan!
I ended up filling the entire body of my minivan, right up to the passenger seat! I bought just about every single cake pan in the building... for PENNIES... literally! I also bought solid cake boards with risers on the bottom and all ready to go... and a trash bag of cake pop tops and pics.... and in the garage, I bought two shelves because of the boards that they had... and Imagine my surprise, when we were cleaning out the top shelf and in the very back, found 8 boxes of vintage cake toppers, unopened, from the 50's or so. Plates, pillars, bags.... you name it. I mean, I must have bought about 100 or more cake pans, it's hard to say because they were all nested... square, heart, round, rectangles, bundt, etc.... 40 or more boards square, heart, oval, clover, hex, and some strange shape that's rectangular but has a round edge on one end... , buckets and boxes of stuff... and guess what the total was???
I'm not telling.
Well, I will, but only if you promise not to kill me for doing so!
Hey, I love a deal - even if it's not mine! Tell us how much you paid for all those treasures!!!!!!!
...you still have pennies ? wow.
Now that i am over that.....
me again with the TOTAL price.
Go on, you know you want to make us all weep -
Mind you, why wouldn't you shout it from the CC rooftop - sounds like an absolute bargin
Bluehue
sounds like you could start another business selling all this vintage cake stuff on ebay. i bet it was for pocket change too!!!
Alright, what'd they do, go to bed? Not fair. Shouldn't post this stuff at 11:30 at night, then leave us in suspense.

$59.50
Let the beatings begin.... LOL.. Really, all I do is troll www dot auctionzip dot com and type in bakery and 100 miles for the search radius. Trust me-- I'd go two hundred to find deals like that, it's SO worth it!
Your a smart cookie!! My brother does auctions and I have to check stuff out for him on auctionzip and I haven't even thought of checking bakery auctions on there. Guess I am at the bottom of the bag.LOL
MAN! I found this too late! There is an auction today about 60 miles away for a bankrupt grocery store. They are auctioning off a Hobart mixer, as well as coolers and refrigerated display cases. I have too many cakes today to go to that one! Oh, well, I bookmarked the site and I'll keep checking. Thanks, Cakenicing, for the great site!!
About 3 weeks ago I went to an auction and was able to get a Lang electric full size convection oven. They said it worked when they went to get it. But couldn't promise me anything. I got it for $125 and it works great! Take a look at the site DoubleTakeAucions.com I haven't bid on anything...Yet
WOW!!! What a steal!
Those other sites are great - I was just doing a quickie look and saw some decent stuff. Worth looking futher into in the near future.
I looked at auctionzip.com just out of curiosity (I don't have room for ANYTHING), and my favorite item for sale was:
Pork chops!
They advised you to bring a cooler!
Ok, I admit it - I'm jealous. Anyone else want to jump on the Green-Eyed Bandwagon?

I really lucked out! They were selling this strange homemade table when one of the guys said hey- I think there's something in there! They lifted the top and yanked out one cake pan! I said 'sell the contents seperate!' and paid $10 on it considered a 'blind lot!' cause we couldnt see it... SCORE! Filled with cake pans! It's insane how many I got! I had to work that night, so I went to my storage unit and dropped everything off... One of these days I have to get up there and inventory it all- I seriously have no solid idea of how many I got since they were all nested together!
I HATE YOU!!!! just kidding..I'm really happy you were able to find those great deals.
I wish I would have bought more... I was really really trying to be a GOOD girl and buy only the 'essentials'... but I could have had a LOT more than what I got.. All in all I did behave, but it's a shame to know how much went to the scrap metal guys that were there!
great i can see what ill be doing when im not on here look for bakery auction. what an amazing deal.
yay!! Ever since your first post a few months back, Ive been keeping an eye out for auctions. I haven't seen any that are close enough to my area.
WHAT A GREAT DEAL. I took a look but there's nothing in my area - I probably won't see anything like that - you are very lucky!
well, if I ever get to put in a separate kitchen, I know where to look! Thanks for sharing!
it helps too, if you search under other terms. There's a place out here that does restaurant (sp) auctions and there's bigger equipment there... that's where I got most of my bigger pieces.
