Has anyone used a petite four frosting type to dip the top of cupcakes in and let set up then decorate?? Customer wants a smooth top frosted cupcake. Not fondant. Plus it has to be sturdy enough for an Outside mountian wedding.

I have dipped cupcakes in petit four icing. If your petit four icing is too thin, you can double dip after the first layer has cooled and set. I then piped a rose on top. It's the pink/red cupcakes surrounded by a 6" cake in my gallery if you wanna see the results.
