I'm helping my mom make a luau cake and we wanted to make a hula girl out of gum paste but have absolutely no idea how to do it! She usually makes cakes for family members birthdays but now a friend wants one. Can someone help us out please? Thank you! icon_sad.gif

gumpaste dries pretty fast. You may want to use a fondant/ gumpaste 50/50 mix. It gives you more time to play with it. If you have time to practise, I would use playdoh (it's simmular) to get the look of the hula girl. You can look on line (you tube) or rent from the library clay figurine books. Its just circles and sausages to start your figure and it goes on from there. If you need anymore info just ask. Figures are so much fun! Good luck!
