Check out the recipe for Crazy Cake in the recipe section that is a good chocolate one. I've never tried using flax seed as a replacer, but I have tried using Ener-G egg replacer, and just am not impressed.

For Chocolate, I'd go with the Crazy Cake.

Additionally, you can do a search for Vegan cake and see what comes up. A vegan cake will contain no eggs. My kids are allergic to eggs and between the Crazy Cake and Vegan Cupcakes Take over the World, those are my go-to receipes.

I've made eggless cake with pop before.
I'm trying to find my recipe here ...
It was something like 1 box of white cake mix and 1 can of sprite and bake as usual.
If you are making chocolate use coke instead.
I can't seem to find it, maybe someone else has tried it to?
It was a different texture.
The cake turned out more like an angel food cake.

The chocolate vegan recipies out there on the internet are near perfect...you get a nice moist cake albeit a bit too moist for my liking but soft nonetheless. Vanilla eggless is a bit more tricky but if this is just a one off thing you are good with the chocolate. Good luck!
