Can anyone tell me how to achieve the color of a brown paper bag? I am trying to dye gum paste that color and have gone through half a bottle of Wilton Brown but I am getting a tan/flesh tone color. What other color can I add in order to darken it up and achieve the brown paper bag color?

Please help! The texture of my gumpaste is already getting funky from all of the coloring paste and kneading (although I keep wrapping it in cling wrap in between tries).

TIA

Cari

Hmmm...maybe a teeny tiny bit of gray? I like to try it out on a really small ball first so you can see where it's going and then you won't have so much waste.

I agree. Try a small ball first and add gray.

I have found Wilton dyes to be terrible. You have to use so much to achieve a brilliant color. I use Americolors and they are great. Don't know if you have any cake supply stores near you but most of them carry it. Also GSA has it but don't know how much hurry you're in. Good luck.
