i bought the damask stencil from Lindy Smith's website and had a wee go last night on a dummy wedding cake.

IT WAS A DISASTER!! the stencil wouldnt stay still and wouldnt bend, to allow me to stencil without going over the edges. i was trying to paint with black paste colour as i didnt have any RI made up but it wouldnt have made a difference what i used as the stencil just wouldnt stay flat - there must be a trick to this??

please help!! i wouldnt be able to even attempt this on a real cake icon_sad.gif

I too practice a stencil on a dummy cake this week. I bought a stencil from the craft store and used RI. I put a straight pin through the stencil on one end and pulled the other end tight and held with finger and smoothed the icing on with a straight edge. The straight pin really helped and you could see the hole in the fondant.

Sorry
I can't give you an answer. Have you watched all the videos made by the manufacturer on how to use the products?
