My place of work has volunteered to provide food for the local Red Cross' monthly blood drive in July. I'm making decorated cookies. The Red Cross rep was very excited about this. 
I could just make summer stuff -- beach balls, ice cream cones, etc. -- but I'm up for more of a challenge.
So ... what says "blood donor" to you?

You can look on my flickr site and see the blood droplets I did for my son's eagle scout project that was a blood drive. I know they're super simple but people just really loved them! Sometimes simple is just the perfect touch. Good luck!

I like the idea of blood bags or band aids. there are a few pics in my photos of some I did for my the staff at the hospital when my SIL was in last year.
Just a thought...when I've given blood, the last thing I want to think about is giving blood! I'd rather see cookies that are funny (like vampire teeth) than realistic (like bandaids). That's just me. Give me a bright colored smiley face and I'd be happy!
