I know of 2 men on here, who both give excellent advise! Hopefully some will chime in, b/c I've been curious about the ratio of women to men on here!
That's right RylanTy,I thought you are a woman. But I think most of us just guess,don't we,we just assume the people we are interacting with on here are women.I would love to know the men though.
I think there is someone named Cupcakeman, or something like that. I missed the username once and still referred to him as a she.
I'm a guy!! Been decorating for about 5 years.
The only tip that I think that would be helpful is learn as much as you can from this website!! I love it and I'm addicted to it!! I surf here 7 - 10 times a day.
As for a cake decorating tip I love using a paper towel to smooth out my butter cream. I learned on here to use Viva paper towels but I use them all and most of the time I use one with a design that leaves an impression behind.
I am pretty sure Bobwonderbuns is not a guy. I believe she mentions it on the gourmet flavors thread. She said that most people do think she is a guy. I know I did.
There is RylanTy, Bobwonderbuns, CakeBoss (buddy), I forget the one guys name, he is a sugar artist. I know there are more but I can't think of any right off.

I knew RylanTy was a guy on here. But before I met him on here I met him on Youtube and before I watched his first video I thought he was a she.

Hi tonimarie, THANKS for the nice words. I'm just a beginner in cake decorating and I just do it for family and friends as gifts. I just like big cakes so there is more to play with.

I'll skip the obvious punch line to your question about additional tools, and just say that in my experience, your best bet it to go ahead and try it/do it! I see a lot of posts asking, "Can I do..." to which I always want to reply, "there are no rules in cake decorating, so just go ahead and do it!" but I don't want to look like a smart a$$.
Hey Rylan - I have the best wife on earth! She is very supportive and always willing to help when I need it!
I am guy as well! My wife is the real cake decorating talent in the fam... I just bake, do our website and get us business... and decorate a couple wedding cakes a year (to her 300 wedding cakes,)
