I'm sooo cake crazy!!!!! Well my DH says I am!! DH & I were watching "Shall We Dance" (Richard Gere) tonight on Lifetime. Nothing else to do & we've never seen it. I loved it by the way. I didn't mention anything about cakes during the whole show... I was being a good girl. At the end when Richard & Susan are dancing in the kitchen I see a beautiful golden kitchen aid!!!!!! I got so excited & said look at that beautiful golden KA!!! My DH told me I'm cake crazy & need a break from cakes & of all the things to notice on the movie I notice a silly mixer! LOL!! He just doesn't understand!! Just thought that was funny & thought I'd share~ Ya'll have a good night, I'm up way past my bedtime~
Don't worry about it. My whole family thinks I've gone cake crazy. Well not just cake crazy. Baking crazy is more like it. That's why I got an artisan KA for Christmas and a bunch of baking stuff. They at least know what I like. Actually I think they like it more, because they get to eat all of my projects. My MIL even started making requests of stuff for me to make for her. She finished of a whole batch of petit fours and chocolate covered cherries. Not to mention I gave her some cake balls to see if the flavor combo was good. She blames me for her gaining weight over Christmas. 
I didn't shove those cherries down her throat. Then she got mad when I said that was all of the cherries I made. She wanted me to make more.
I'm so cake crazy too!! Last summer when I first met my brother and his wife, I was at their place and all I found asking was: What's the brand of paper towels you're using? Because I don't have that design... We go to store and all I'm looking for is new things to use at decorating tools. I see some objects, and think (sometimes say it out loud) can I make a make like this thing? I look at wedding pictures from family and friends and look for the wedding cake instead of the dress... At weddings I spend my time around the cake table studying the design of the cake instead of dancing...

I do the same thing with KAs as soon as I see one I tell my husband to look. Its one of those things that I do without even thinking. My mom came this weekend and as soon as I open the fridge she asks What are you making now? But I dont bake cakes as much as I would like I also make candys and different things with chocolate. But today I am making an Angel food cake because they are naturally fat free and my husband is trying to lose weight because he has put on weight with his new desk job. The thing is the Angel food cake is fat free till you start adding things like Choco syrup and wipe cream.
You have GOT to be kidding, Right? I do the VERY same thing. I am cake, cake pan, KA noticer. I notice all of that. Everytime a movie comes on that has a wedding in it I HAVE to rewind the dvd & zoon in on the cake. When it doen not show the cake I am always sad
My Mother told me about a truck commerical (Chevy or Ford) that is their anniversary & its a HUGE cake. The driver of the cake drives right into the cake. 
SHe said the driver rubs his finger on the truck & licks his finger. 
I told her a "big wig"s wife must be into cakes & came up with the commerical.
I have not seen the commerical. SHe just told me about it because there is not ONE day that goes by that I am not seeing something cake.

I bumped into a friend last week at a store. She had her 3 yr old DD with her. She had the cutest outfit on! Brown, pinks & blues. Before I said Hi, I thought that would be a beautiful on a cake! Thank goodness DH wasn't with me or he would have admitted me on the 10th floor!!! LOL!! I guess are artist minds are working overtime! I just wish I had time to do more cakes & practice different things.

Ohh I have another silly thing... The commercial thing reminded me.. When commercials comes on on the channel we're watching I flip it to Foodtv & watch whatever is on there til the commercials are over... even if there are commercials on Foodtv!! I just think the commercials are better on Foodtv! Aggravates the hell out of my DH!

This lady had made a baby bag out of pink & brown & I even told her that would make a cute cake. She knows I am cake crazy thats all I talk about.

I wonder if people who have other interests are crazy about their interests?? I think mainly sports lovers might be as crazy us us cakers, but I don't know. I'm a vol. firefighter & I'm not so crazy about that as I am about cakes. I do collect anything fire dept related but it doesn't pop into my mind all the time like cakes do~ 
That truck commercial is wild. They have a huge (supposedly) cake and the truck drives through it and winds up with cake and icing all over it.
I can't tell for sure if it is a real cake that large or not, maybe when you see it you will look really close we can decide if it is real or not.
It frustrates me when there is a cake in the movie, commercial, etc., but they don't stay focused on it long enough for me to get a good look at it!
You know when you've bought a car and all of a sudden that kind of car is everywhere and you'd never noticed/paid attention to that kind before! Maybe we aren't as bad off as we think!
You know I do not think other peoples intrest are as "peked" as ours our. hummm
Oh this reminds me. Have you seen the Cherrios (cereal) commerical with the stacked cake. Its covered in buttercream the decorated with cherrois (swags & borders) I thought I was going to have a cow when I saw it. I have only seen it once & it totally caught me off guard so I do not remember even what the commerical was about, well the story line anyway.
I am going to go see if I can find a link to it.

No I haven't seen the Cheerios one either! I'm usually on the puter! Now I have to look for the truck & Cheerios commercial!! Too funny!!
I have watched Nanny McPhee at least 5 times now. Not so much that it's my favorite movie, but just for the garden wedding scene. Others are probably watching the food fight, I am looking at each cake design and all the gorgeous cupcake platters. In one scene you can get a good look at the wedding cake just as the minister ducks down hiding from the imaginary bees. I keep hoping he will stay down because you get a good closeup view of the cake.
Occasionally I will watch "A Wedding Story" series on television, I could care less about the ceremony, may look at the gown and flowers but what I am really waiting for is the reception so I can see the cake. Sometimes they never show it and I get so upset! What? I watched 30 minutes of this show, and NO CAKE???
I actually saw the cheerios one the other day. Normally I don't pay attention to the commericals, but when I glanced at the TV and saw the cheerio cake I remembered this thread. I got really excited and yelled out loud "Oh look that's the cheerio commercial!" My DH kind of looked at me weird. I just said "nevermind". He wouldn't have understood.
