I have to make a sheet cake for a Graduation party and I was wondering on how the best way to split it without it breaking to put a filling in in. I have always done a 9x13 and nothing bigger. Could someone please give me an idea. I would really appreciate it. Thanks

After you cut it, slip a cake board or large flat cookie sheet between the layers to remove the top layer, fill, and carefully slide the top layer back into position. Helpes to mark both pieces with either a touch of frosting or toothpicks to match up when you put the top back!

Ditto, that is exactly how I do it...even full sheets.
