Strawberry Wasc That Uses Real Strawberries?

I have MacsMoms recipe for her strawberry wasc, but it uses 2 box mixes, 2 cups flour, 2 cups sugar AND 1 1/3 cup strawberry daquiri mix

can i sub pureed strawberries?

Any flavor of cake can be made using different flavored cake mixes or extracts, etc. and the basic WASC cake recipe by Rebecca Sutterby:
(Including using frozen pureed berries.)

you can, but I find that real berries turn the cake a brownish pink color.
