Making gumpaste flowers is a HUGE back and eyeball breaker!

I made 5 dog roses, 3 half dog roses, 7 sets of leaves, and 9 buds. I just finished them not 45 min ago. My back is killing me. My eyes hurt. And my "shop" is messy.

My hat is off to you flower makers. Mine don't even look that great, and I'm completely impressed by the effort that goes into them. They were my first attempt without an instructor watching. I made them to give to my mom for Mother's Day. Hopefully I'll get her a cake done, too!

I guess that's it. Just had to throw in my $0.02.

PHEW!!! (wipes brow and is heading to flop down on the couch.....)

Gumpaste can be time consuming...but so rewarding at the same time. If I have several to make, I try to do assembly style...I find they go quicker that way. Time...time...that's why it's so important not to give them away!
Equipment is expensive, too.
