I dont have any experience doing cakes...i just took Wilton first course to decorate cakes...I would like to know if anyboody have an idea how to make a skateboard out of cake????I am pretty new on this website too...I hope this is the right place to make the questions...

The easiest way to me would be to make a pattern of the skate board on posterboard and then carve your cake to that size. I would make the under part since that has the coolest designs usually and you don't have to worry about sloping the cake up, just down on the sides.
Then ice it and pipe on your design. You can use little doughnuts covered in fondant as your wheels.

I'm with Samantha only my thought was to buy the chocolate covered doughnuts ... forget the fondant. I think you could do a great job on this type of cake as a beginner.
