After doweling bottom cake, do you place the top cake onto the frosted bottom, or do you place a plate or cardboard circle between? Thanks
Place a plate or cardboard circle on top of the dowels.
One definitely needs something to support the cake - usually at least a cake cardboard. Otherwise the cake will just poke thru the dowels.
