Hi all,

So, my SIL's best friend is expecting a little girl. I have been asked to make her shower cake. The original instruction was "for about 30 people, nothing to girly, no specific theme or anything. Just whatever you want to do". Today, I get an email from SIL "so, here are a couple of things... the nursery will be yellow and could you incorporate camping, hunting and/or fishing into the cake?"

Uummmm.....any suggestions?

maybe you could make it look like a quilt and have each square something to do with hunting, fishing, etc. hth

This may sound silly, but I like it lol.

Maybe a frog with a bow on its head, fishing?
Like this maybe:

Frost the cake to look like a little pond ad grass, with rocks and lilly pads and stuff. The froggie in the middle. Have "Welcome to the World Baby Girl" or something along those lines on it. HTH

I love the frog idea Heather.....definitely takes it away from all the manly images I had in my head...but this is a really cute idea. Thanks a bunch.

There are a few cakes here on CC very much like you all are describing.
Look under fondant/gumpaste figures. They are consistently very cute, so go for it!!!
