I want to attempt to carve a car out of RCT for a friend. I want to start on it Monday...to be served 7 days later. Will it still be okay? The recipe on the box says it would hold for 2 days.

Rice Krispies Treats, right? I bet as long as you keep them sealed in airtight plastic (mummy wrapped), should be fine. After all, they sell them pre-made at the grocery and those keep for months in the packaging, right? Good luck!

Rice Krispie Treats with a C? Okey dokey...

I agree that tight wrapping should do the job for a week. But remember, those packages at the grocery go through a special process where the air is replaced with nitrogen. That's why they don't go stale even though there appears to be 'air' in the package.

I do a lot of designs with the rice krispy's, a Porsche most recently that you can view in my gallery, but I have found that once you manipulate them enough to carve and do whatever...they become quite compacted and very undesirable to eat. If you are intending them to be eaten, I would wrap it tightly and do it only a day or so in advance otherwise they become very stale, hard and thus the edges become quite sharp when eaten. Good luck!

I have to agree with the last post and say not to store them longer than a few days if they are intended to be eaten. After 3 days in a plastic storage container they start to get nasty tasting. As for the ones in the stores I bought them once and will never again, I think they taste nasty to begin with.

I just checked out your porsche cake and you are a genius!!! I'd been brainstorming ideas for weeks on this particular cake and you just helped me big time. I am going to use your cake as inspiration and will post a pic of mine when done!! THANK YOU!!!
