Airbrushing Luster/pearl Dust On Cake

Will it affect the flavor of my buttercream if I airbrush the whole cake with an alcohol (grain alcohol, no flavor)/luster dust mix?

No, the alcohol evaporates - it doesn't affect the taste, at least none that I could tell!

Will that plug the airbrush?? I was told not to put anything but plain colors into the airbrush.

Some folks report clogging problems, but I've never had any clogs doing it. You must make sure that you keep the mixture thin. I put the luster dust and alcohol in a separate squirt bottle, to keep shaking and mixing it before adding it to the airbrush.

If you want to add flavor, you can use vanilla vodka. I have used lemon extract with vodka for a touch of flavor. Just plain vodka has never been a problem. cakedesigner has it right, keep shaking and it doesn't clog.
