don't know what's best.
but I've made it twice with white cake mix and it was SO GOOD!!!

I use a lemon cake mix. The first time I made it, I was afraid to put too much lemon extract in, that it would be too strong. So I only put 1 tsp in and 3 tsp of vanilla, and it didn't have anough lemon taste for me. Now I use 3 tsp lemon and 1 tsp vanilla. It is delicious, one of my most popular cakes!

I make it with lemon cake mix and I love the results. I also use 3 tsp lemon and 1 tsp vanilla extracts. I have to say, too, that I generally don't like lemon cake, but I think with the sour cream in it, it's much more to my taste.
