I have an easter cake due for friday. My question is how early can I bake and decorate it and it still taste fresh?

ive had cake for 5 days, covered in fondant and bc thats still tasted fresh. i would try not to leave it that long though. if you want to bake this weekend, you could always freeze, and defrost nearer the time.
